DIABETIC DIET FOR NIDDM PATIENT ( TOTAL CALORIES 1400/ PROTINS 40 GMS/ CARBOHYDRATE 150 GMS/ FAT 48 GMS)

   
Before Breakfast: 1 cup of tea or coffee(without sugar) use skimmed milk.
Breakfast: 1 cup of skimmed milk
Whole wheat bread-(2 big slices) or
Multigrain + Egg whole – 1no.( alt day)
(OR)
Pannier paratha-1 no.(Less oil/No Ghee)
(OR)
Rawa+ sprout upma ( less oil)
(OR)
Poha+sprout 1 cup
(No groundnuts and coconut)
Idli/Dosa with coriander mint chutney- 2 small
Mid Meal: 1 Fruit (Low carbohydrate fruit if advised)
Lunch: :Chappatis-2 nos.(Medium sized/less oil)
Vegetables-1 cup
Dal/pulse 1 cup 9(or) 50-60 gms chicken or fish
Salad- ½ cup.
Tea Time: 1 cup tea( use skimmed milk/ no soya)
Marie biscuits-2 nos.
Mid Meal: 1 cup of clear soup(No cream,butter,ghee)
Dinner: LChapptis-2 nos.
Vegetable-1 cup.
If having dal then take ½ cup in lunch and ½ cup in dinner.
 
HYPERTENSIVE DIET ( LOW FAT AND CALORIES AND LOW SODIUM DIET) TOTAL CALORIES 1200/PROTINS 40 GMS)
 
Morning : 1 cup light tea(1 tea spoon suger+skimmed
Milk)
Breakfast: Milk-1 glass(plain)+Bread/Toast-2 no.(no but
Ter/cheese)+2 egg white(no yolk)+1fruit
(OR)
1 bowl porridge+1 fruit
Lunch: 1 cup vegetable soup(no cream or butter)+
Chappati-1 no.(No oil/ghee)+1/2 cup rice+1
Cup vegetable+1 cup dal+1 cup curd+ ¼
Cup salad.
Tea Time: 1 cup tea(1 rea spoon sugar/use skimmed
Milk)+Biscuits-2 nos.(No cream biscuits)
Dinner: Same as lunch(but curd ½ cup).
Important Instructions: No added salt in rice,chappati,
Curd and soups
Salt use only 1 tsp(leveled) per day
No papad or pickle
   
DIET IN CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE( TOTAL CALORIES 2000/PROTIN-30-40 GMS/SODIUM LOW/POTASSIUM LOW/FLUID DEPENDING ON URINE OUTPUT AND EDEME)
   
Important Note: This is a very basic diet.Individual needs differ depending on the condition of the patient and all the observations in kidney function tests.
   
Breakfast: 1 cup very light tea+potato paratha-1 no.+Banana-1 no(If fruit
Advised)
Lunch: Phulkas-3 nos.OR( 1 cup rice+ phulka 1 no.)
Vegatable-1 cup
Dal(thin)-1 cup
Rice ½ cup.
Tea Time: Tea-1 cup(light)
¾ cup Rawa/Upma/poha(No coconut/groundnut oil) Or 1-Cup
Sabudana khichadi.
Dinner: Phulka-2 nos.
Vegetable-1 cup.
Rice-1 cup.
Pannir Gravy-1 cup.
Bed Time: 1 fruit(If advised)
Avoid salt in food.
